The remarkable Glasshouse Mountains are a series of steep sided volcanic plugs which dominate the Sunshine Coast hinterland.
16 peaks in total, they are formed of rhyolite and trachyte, lavas which have hardened inside the vents of tertiary volcanoes that have been greatly reduced by over 25 million years of erosion. |
